Aditya Academy Group of Schools held our first and one-of-a-kind Literary Festival labelled Emblazon Literary Fest 2022 – 2023 on the 12th and 13th of August 2022 as an initiative to bring together celebrated authors and thought leaders to celebrate literature, art and culture. The fest aimed to bring like-minded individuals together and give a platform to students to display their talents besides just focusing on their academics. We successfully managed to create a festival that represents the diversity of our community while being accessible to all ages. And, most importantly, it was well attended and a fun and lively event.
There were a total of 15 events and competitions that took place over a span of two days with students participating in different activities. They were planned in a way that allowed young minds to enrich themselves with wisdom and knowledge.
The Chief Guests was Sri. Amar Mitra who not only is a renowned author in the state of West Bengal but also an avid student of chemistry, and Sri.Sabarna Roy who is a trained Civil Engineer and graduated with a First Class Honours Civil Engineering Degree from Jadavpur University and eminent author who has won Golden Glory Award for Critically Acclaimed Bestselling Author of the Year 2021.
The events of Day 1 (12th August 2022) included:
- The Inauguration Ceremony by the Chief Guest who gave the inaugural address.
- A Debate session between students of Class XI and XII of Aditya Academy Senior Secondary.
- A crossword puzzle competition between students of Class V and VI.
- A Spelling Bee competition between students of Class IX and X.
- An extempore competition between the students of classes VIII to X called Spur of the Moment.
- Pic story, which was the illustration of stories amongst students of classes VI to VIII.
- A literary quiz for students from class IX to XII.
With the above-mentioned events, we managed to provide an interactive and exciting platform for our students to showcase their skills and talents in their chosen fields. They were allowed to experiment, explore, engage and inspire each other to share knowledge and involve their energy to make the event successful.
The events of Day 2 (13th August 2022) included:
- An interactive session with Reetwika Banerjee who is a Cyber Security professional, presently associated with a North American conglomerate as a Global Client Information Security lead.
- A storytelling competition among students from classes V to VII using different types of props.
- A recitation competition for students from classes V to VII called Story Beatz.
- A monologue of popular Shakespearean characters for students from Class IX to XII called Steal a Scene.
- A photography competition for students from class XI to XII called Poetry Through the Lenses
- A competition of Rapsody for students from classes IX to XII
- A lyric and song competition called Sing Dilse for students from class IX to XII
The events were concluded with a prize distribution where students from different event categories were facilitated for their performance. And, students that stood out from their competition were presented with a trophy for their excellent performance. Each student received a participation certificate for their hard work and dedication. The Chief Guest and Guests of Honour were also presented with gifts for attending Emblazon Literary Fest (2022 – 2023).
The fest was a complete success and while being child-friendly, it was a complete crowd-pleaser too. It provided the opportunity for students to meet critically-acclaimed individuals while having lots to do. Along with entertaining younger audiences, it was a hit among the adults present too.
